discuss Which movie started 10/10 and ended 10/10?

This is a thread to discuss anything related to movies.
I have no objection to Tenet being a very good move. It is indeed a masterpiece and Christopher Nolan puts his all into this film and the concept is mind-blowing too! What makes it more attractive is the way it was executed. This film will keep you on the edge of your seat for sure..
Agree! Nolan's creativity and execution make Tenet truly unforgettable.Which movie do you like

Oww, a good one!

(On that note though, I hope it's splintered in a thousand pieces and scattered to the wind)
The CIA you mean?

I think having a CIA is important. I just don't think it should ever lean one side. it should be apolitical. Bias intelligence and analysis will get this country hurt,

Yes. The movie was great, but the CIA got to go.

It would be important if they actually believed that they fell under the Executive Branch and didn't have powers to hide or conceal anything from the person heading that branch.

Maybe oversight is needed.

The new director of its graduated from the high school in the town I was born in. That's kind of neat.

But if we do get rid of the CIA, how do we stay competitive with intelligence? China isn't going to get rid of theirs. Putin isn't going to get rid of his KGB in disguise. Intelligence is an important piece of continuing to be a superpower.

I'm all for them not doing things behind the president's back but there needs to be some independence to be able to quickly integrate into the next president after the last one.

I just don't like the idea of a CIA that leans towards one side of the political spectrum. That's not healthy for a democracy. In fact, that's a good example of what communism is.

I don't want to get too off-topic of 10/10 movies, but it's quite simple. You dismantle the entire organization and rebuild it with new policies (codified laws) in place that can only ever be modified under the power of a delegated person (and not the Director) within the Executive Branch (could be the President himself) as they've already shown they can get out of line, and could very well do the same thing over the next decades as they rebuild.

Organizational values are set at the top, and to get to the top, you must align yourself with the top. And with rot at the top, you only have rot rotating in. So, it's a complete dismantle or chop off the head of the agency and all the high-ranking officials.

That's the only way it can be done.

You can't do it with "more oversight" because there is already a foundation of "the good boy's network" within the CIA that will ignore it or pawn it off to administrative work that would take months to get anything done, and by then, the CIA accomplished the task and buried it so deep it could be hidden for decades.

Reforming intelligence requires dismantling corruption, enforcing strict laws, and ensuring leadership change to prevent systemic issues from recurring over decades.
