discuss What was the last app or program that you used?

A thread covering the latest news on trends, groundbreaking technologies, and digital innovations reshaping the tech landscape.
Just got done in PuTTY for a bit, running system commands on a server.

I wish I had learned/leaned into CLI (command lines) when I first started programming and whatnot in my teens. It's so irritating doing everything in text without a GUI.

I tried using my Facebook messenger but couldn't send my chat to my friend. I was getting a notification saying user not available when I was seeing her online.

What could be the cause of that?
There could be a few issues that caused this to happen:

1. Account Restrictions or Blocking

• Blocked by the User: If the person has blocked you on Facebook or Messenger, you won’t be able to send them messages, even if their profile appears online.

• You’re Blocked on Messenger Only: Sometimes, a user can block someone specifically on Messenger while remaining friends on Facebook. This prevents messages but doesn’t make their profile inaccessible.

2. Messenger Settings

• Message Requests Setting: If the person has strict message request settings (e.g., “Only friends can send messages”), and you’re not on their friends list, your messages might be restricted.

• Privacy Restrictions: They may have customized settings that prevent specific users from messaging them, even if you can see them online.

3. Account Status

• Deactivated Account: If the user has temporarily deactivated their Facebook account but is still logged into Messenger, it could cause this notification.

• Account Issues: Their account could be flagged, temporarily suspended, or facing issues that prevent normal interaction.

4. Technical Issues

• App Bugs or Glitches: A bug in Facebook Messenger could cause this error, even when the user is available.

• Server Issues: Problems with Facebook’s servers could result in messaging errors or delays.

• Outdated App: If you’re using an outdated version of Messenger, it may cause unexpected errors.

5. Friendship or Connection Changes

• Unfriended: If they’ve unfriended you on Facebook, it might affect your ability to message them, depending on their settings.

• Deleted Conversations: In rare cases, deleting old conversations can cause temporary glitches when trying to message someone again.

How to Troubleshoot

1. Check Your Connection: Ensure your internet connection is stable.

2. Try Another Device: Use another device to see if the issue persists.

3. Update the App: Make sure Messenger is up to date.

4. Verify Your Friendship: Check if you’re still connected with the user on Facebook.

5. Reach Out in Another Way: If possible, contact the person through another platform to verify the issue.

If none of these apply, the issue might be temporary and could resolve itself.

The last app I used is what I'm still currently in and that's my Google chrome browser. It's what I'm using to access ROFLMAO right now.
That should always be the answer. :ROFLMAO:

Aside from that, I was just using Notepad to build a bunch of SQL queries.

The last app I used was LinkedIn. I was just trying to get update from my professional network.
That’s a perfect way to maintain contacts with your professional circle. I have also been so frequent with LinkedIn lately and it helped me to stay abreast of the happening around the business world and my connections has been so great. It is such a great way to get informed and to know people.
