In my country, doing a court or registry marriage is optional. And most people don't opt to do it. They say that a court marriage is harder to dissolve.

Would you do a court marriage if you had the express option not to do it at all?

In our country, any marriage, whether it is done secretly between the couples or elaborately by inviting hundreds of people or traditionally through rituals, will be valid only if it is registered with local authority. All marriage needs to be registered. You cannot register your child's birth if your marriage is not registered.

I can't be forced into any kind of marriage especially if it does not suit me. In my country, there are no significant or special benefits for court marriages but if there are benefits, I might likely not have an option.

This is quite interesting to hear. So what about those that have kids out of wedlock? I mean those ladies that birth kids to men that don't want to marry them. Something like a guy and lady that just are in a relationship with no intention to marry. And a pregnancy comes in? The birth of such a child won't be registered?

That can be settled by court. If an unmarried couple has a child but the father does not take in the child, the mother can file a case in the court, and the judge can decide the outcome after checking the proofs. It can be a lengthy process though.

Any man that is not ready to do a registry marriage with me is not surely going to marry me. A marriage is a binding contract and adding some legality to it would give me some assurance. With religious marriage, someone can just wake up and walk away anytime. But not so for registry marriage.
