discuss Why aren't you an athlete?

Do you like sports?

Is so, what stops you from being an athlete? Why did you choose a different path rather than an athletic path?

We can see that being an athlete often comes with gaining a lot of sponsorships and money. You have to work hard for it. But to do anything that gives you money requires hard work at some point in the career.

Why did you not choose the athletic way instead of what you do now?

I developed a passion for sports since I was little, but lack of access to quality facilities kept holding me back. Though I played competitively in high school, but I couldn't continue due to lack of motivation and access to the required facilities.

Is so, what stops you from being an athlete?

Because bodybuilding doesn't count as being an athlete.

Actually, there were several factors. I really do not have that natural born talent or the physical attributes to make it happen. Moreover, I had other things going on, like school and creative things. I still do enjoy playing just for fun.

So many kids were trained by their old man to excel in sports, even in preschool, and so many guys can't compete with that because we didn't have fathers or didn't have coach type ones. Myself, my dad was immobile due to an accident so being active in my life was difficult.

I actually attempted to pursue a career in athletics but it didn't work out for me. I joined a local football academy and played tournaments. For more than a decade, there was no real advancement in that aspect. I had to stop and pursue something else.

One of the reasons i am not an athlete is because i am not a huge fan of sports. I admire athletes but being one is a no for me.

I am not an athlete because of three reasons:

1. It is a costly affair
2. The returns are too low.
3. It involves a lot of physical effort and sacrifice including not eating junk food - something I am not biologically designed to do.

I'm not an athlete because I know I don't have it in me to be one. The level of commitment and dedication one who's going to be an athlete needs to have is what I know to be impossible for me to give now.

I've suffered ankle dislocation once or twice to know how painful it is. It's why I don't play football, I'm more than good being a spectator.

I am not an athlete because my parents didn't encourage me to be one. I was a good footballer in high school. My parents encouraged me to pursue academics. And that is what I ended up pursuing. Not as if I had a say in what I wanted to pursue.
