Veterans have so much to contribute towards the betterment of younger generation. Their extensive experiences and mere presence can be such a huge motivation for present football teams. Why do you think players like Ronaldo, Pele, Diego Maradona, Fabien Barthez etc have retired silently and are not actively engaged as coach or guide for current teams?

Not everyone would be a football coach after they retire from football. Some of the veterans in that era that you mentioned are already coaches. Zidane, Simeone, Guardiola are the veterans in that era that are doing well as coaches. Some of those veterans of that era are into football clubs ownership. Ronaldo Lima and several other of his playing mates own clubs in various leagues.

I think the rate at which ex footballers get into coaching these days is quite admirable. Some of the ex players that we adored just decades ago are high profile coaches. It won't be everyone that would transition to coaches after their playing careers but I have seen many that do. And we have a good number of them as top coaches.

Some veteran footballers who turned coaches haven't really been doing well in their managerial careers. Some examples are Rooney, Neville and Ruud Van nistelroy. Sometimes it is best players just retire and forget about coaching.
You forget that they are just rookies as coaches and they would improve with time. Xabi Alonso is doing wonders with Leverkusen, Kompany is doing fairly well in Munich. Fabregas is doing great with Como. Recent veteran players would be the next superstar coaches.

True, that is why I said some. Of course, with time and experience they can only get better

I really want to see the veteran footballers that entered coaching do very well, especially the British boys. I want to see Rooney, Lampard, Giggs do well as coaches. I also want to see Henry do well as a Coach.

It's not a must that every good player can become a good coach or even go into coaching to start with it.

It's why I love Cristiano Ronaldo because when he was asked if he's going to go into coaching when he retires, he said no. He might be willing to own a club.
That's it. Every ex footballer must not be a coach. Some would go into football administration with their experience. And some would even leave football entirely to focus on other endeavors. But we all love to see our favourite ex players on the touchlines though.

Some of them who thought it was easy have tried with several clubs and failed woefully. Players like Wanye Rooney, Frank Lampard, Theiry Henry and many more all failed at being a manager.

There, we got a man who was honest. If Wayne Rooney had made it his decision not to become a manager, he won't be having the issues that he is currently having at clubs he's managed with 3 of them being relegated with him as manager.

It is a scenario no legend would want to see on their management cv no matter what.

Wanye Rooney is the worst player manager I've seen in my life. I think at one point, some of his old player buddies asked him to stop coaching because of the bad record he kept setting in leading clubs into relegation.
