What I know that American football doesn't get fancied in Nigeria. That's because people see it as being too violent. It doesn't have a bad reputation per say but it is the least fancied sports in Nigeria.
So, it means that there are not many people taking part in American football in the country, right?

In my country, professional boxing is viewed to be violent and that is why it is less popular. They have a very low fan base compared to soccer.
Football, even though my country is pumping billions into it, is still the worst game because of poor refereeing and favoritism. I don’t think they will change their path, but rather they will continue to do so, even though this has had a negative impact on all sectors of sports.
I don't get why boxing has got a lot of fans. A sport where a fighter ends up destroying the face of the other just to win is not one that I enjoy watching, too, no matter the amount of money that is involved.

It is bad to have a sport where the majority of the players are cheating. It is not good for the business and would even discourage investors from putting in their funds.
I can't think of any sports which have a serious bad reputation in my country. They are not entirely flawless but they give the people what they want whenever they make out time to watch those sports.
