PayPal is no doubt the most popular and used payment processor in the financial sector. This is why so many alternatives are struggling competing with PayPal services. Even with PayPal being very difficult and never care how they treat some of their customer, many people can't stop using it.

What's the best alternative to PayPal?

I do not use PayPal at all. I find it very difficult specially when it block user account for 6 months because high transactions. So crypto is my best alternative.
To the best of my knowledge, PayPal will only block an account in that regard if the transaction was suspicious.

Cryptocurrency is a very good alternative too. How do you buy and sell your cryptocurrency?

As long as your account is set to a business account and is backed by a bank, you shouldn't have an issue. If there was issues in the past, they'll watch your accounts though.

Crypto may be a better option for you, chime, cash app or venmo though.

Nothing beats crypto payment for me because of its low transaction fee and high transaction speed. It's way better than PayPal that will slam you with a high transaction fee even if you are sending money from Paypal to Paypal. That's crazy! 🤣
Cryptocurrency payments isn't faster than PayPal. PayPal payment are delivered immediately they are sent while cryptocurrency will need to complete/confirm about 4 networks before it's delivered. It's only better at fees cryptocurrency is better than PayPal.

Paypal has limited functionality in my home country. We can send payment through paypal but cannot receive funds on paypal. International cards also have send only option, they cannot receive payments. My favorite payment is Western Union. I will ask for Western Union as long as clients are ready to use it. I also use crypto payment.

It's very annoying for PayPal to allow payment to be sent out from your end but will not allow money to be sent to you. I can't understand why they would do it that way?

I've used WU a couple of times, it's a good way to receive and send money. The only problem is it can't work with most freelancer sites because user's full identity information is needed.

The thing is even Cash app(along with other apps) has fees on transactions depending on the amount. I think the only thing that doesn’t have fees is a strict bank to bank transfer via escrow or zelle, which is now defunct.

However, p2p payments are available through some banking apps instead.

That's not the paypal policy, actually the policy was introduced by the government to stop money laundering. For western union payment, you just need a name and address that matches with your government ID. I don't think that should be a problem.

There are some people who will find it very difficult to release their real residence address online. I don't think it's a very smart thing to do in my opinion.

Inter bank transfer is always free most of the time but when it's different banks and from two different countries, the fees are higher than what PayPal or Cash app charges.

You do not need residential address to send and receive funds through western union. You can send receive money by using your legal name and country of residence.

The last time I used Western Union to receive money. This was the details I had to provide to the sender.

My full name which matched the name on my government-issued ID.

My address as it appears on my ID.

I have just discovered a platform called Cleva and I use it to send money seamlessly. It is what I use to receive online payments that can't be sent through crypto. Payoneer and Payeer are more efficient alternatives to PayPal if anyone asks for my opinion.

There are a lot of digital payment systems that are quite popular with PayPal but PayPal still maintains the lead when it comes to online payment. I found Stripe, Square, Wise and Skrill to be appealing as well.
Indeed there are so many of them but the issue is with which ones the freelancing websites are willing to use or the one a client is willing to pay with. Most times, 99% of clients opts for PayPal payment.

PayPal gives that peace of mind for the client, which most other platforms have not been able to replicate. It is the major reason a lot of other payment platforms have not been able to do what PayPal is doing as a payment system. They don't have the structure as PayPal does.

PayPal is good quite alright but it have its own flaws too. The only assurance is that when being compared with other payment processors, PayPal have a better edge than others.
