Well, I have come to a conclusion that the fruits that are not very well known in the western world are usually labeled as exotic fruit. They call jackfruit exotic fruit because this fruit is no so common in the west, however, in my part of the world it is very common.

I completely agree with you. We may have such fruits which are regularly used in one country or region, but are quite rare in another. Which I strongly believe that it's the case where you term some fruits exotic which is due to accessibility and popularity of the fruit.
