When I go cycling, I wear cycling apparel. It's spandex, which is skin tight.

I wear the same type of clothing when I go on hikes that involve more exercise than anything else.

To me, compression apparel is fitness apparel.

But some people make fun of it and give people a hard time for wearing it - both guys and gals. But there are benefits to it, including moisture wicking, cooler when it's warm, muscle stimulation, recovery, and anti-chaffing.

I think most people don't wear it because they aren't confident about their looks.

How do you feel about this attire for working out in? Whether you're a male or female?

It is, but it's not my type.

I wear a long-sleeve compression shirt underneath a looser Under Armour shirt for the benefits of compression, as you mentioned, and for a tad extra in the support of weight during compound movements such as the bench press. There might be nothing to the latter, but it just feels more supportive than without.

I suppose you could say my boxers are "compression" as they are all Under Armour tight-fitting 50/50 "spandex"/cotton. And that's used for anti-chaffing because it's hot here, not for working out alone.

This could be an issue for some people. I'd imagine if they were heavier set, they might not want to show off fat. I cover mine up because I don't want to show off muscle. So, it can go both ways, too.

Count me in. Cyclists look the funniest, especially when they also have their bootie shoes snapped into their bike peddals. 😄

Those are the best!

Riding is way more efficient when you're clipped into your pedals.

You can go as hard as you want without fear of slipping off the pedal and racking your stuff on the frame of your bike.

You just have to remember to unclip. First time I used them, I forgot and fell over at a stop sign without cars behind me. All it hurt was my pride. LOL
