Is there any reason why you can't walk instead of driving to any given place?

I mean, you can't walk across your country to visit another region. That makes sense. Because you don't have the time to take to do it, typically.

But to go check the mail, to go get groceries, to go see your mom down the road - why can't you just walk? If it's close, you can walk.

We humans need to walk more. Something as simple as walking can help keep you alive longer.

There is no fitness with driving.

The distances that i have to walk are too big, to go to work i would take more than 2 hours walking, it's just not worthy for me

walking is totally healthful. We need to walk more. Something that simple can improve your health and even extend your life. After all, there’s no fitness in driving. moreover it can be disaster sometimes.

I don't drive as of yet, but I am learning and hope to pass my test soon. At the moment, I use public transport, but will only use it for certain distances that I struggle with due to my health condition. If I am heading to the shop just around the corner, I will walk and will not take any kind of transport.

I have known people in the past to drive around the corner, which takes about a minute, instead of walking, and I find that to be lazy unless they struggle to walk that far.

It’s far too hot in my area to walk anywhere besides the corner stores, and all the major grocery stores are miles away. Walking to the corner store is doable, and I do it often. It’s only half a mile from my house, but Walmart and the other stores are actually 6 to 9 miles away.

Walking in the high heat isn’t a good idea unless you’re able to cross the freeway or highway, we don’t have a direct road connecting to the grocery stores.

I don’t have any issues walking, my record is 15 to 20 miles in one day. It’s a great way to get exercise if you’re able to do it, but it definitely takes endurance and motivation, especially if you’re not used to walking long distances. I’m more of a fast-paced walker than anything else. I like getting my heart rate up.

In the spring and summer months, it's even too humid here for that. I will be drenched in sweat before even getting there, so I would prefer to drive if I can.

I do most of my walking/running indoors. That is, unless I'm specifically out to get exercise.
