It is time to discuss TV genres that can help us improve our knowledge. However, I believe that documentaries are the best. They are so popular and are on almost everything from science, history, culture and even science and technology. Documentaries are one of the most interesting genre I have ever watched.

What about you? In your opinion, which TV genres do you think help people learn?

I like historical drama films. There is no better history lesson than watching programs such as Vikings or The Last Kingdom. In this shows, we witness how people used to live their lives, what their customs were, and what they used to go through.
Historical movies can be helpful when it is necessary to study history and especially for those who are interested in it. Historically based series such as Vikings or The Last Kingdom demonstrate how people from the past lived, and therefore, it make history even more familiar.

I fully support such an opinion. It's totally true that historical movies and series can be real educational tools. They translate history into something that people can easily relate with. Cosmos and Planet Earth are a good examples of documentaries that help increasing people’s interest in science and in nature as well.
