The Oscar awards have been announced and some of them being announced as I write this.

What took you by surprise?

A surprising entry I saw was 'The Conclave'. It provides an insider account of how the church selects the Pope and it was unusual for me given Oscars previous allergic reaction to movies that criticise the church.

A couple of years ago, I used to watch The Oscars and had my own list about who should win on the most popular categories. However, I have now lost interest. I don't even get to the point to know what movies, actors or directors are nominated.
