So, now we have a new Pope and there is all ideas of how the new Pope may change the ideological direction of the church's thinking.

Personally, I dont think any change will happen because the Pope is not seen as a progressive person and change in the ground in extremely unlikely. However, my understanding of the politics within the church is very limited.

What do you think? Will there be any ideological shift?

I don’t think there would be any ideological shift. Would they be open for a woman pope, Asian pope, African pope? I don't think so.

Would the new pope allow catholic priests to marry? I doubt so. He is a conservative that might not be open to kind of whole ideological shifts like that.
