Whats your swimming proficiency?

I can swim confidently in pools less than 7 ft. But in deeper pools, I am scared and havent attained that level of proficiency for swimming in deep waters. Maybe it sbecause of the lack of any kind of training regarding swimming or maybe because those who taught me swimming didnt teach me how to swim well.

Thats my situation

I was taught how to
Swim when I was pretty young and was a certified lifeguard as a teenager.

I don’t swim too often these days, but I do like taking a couple of laps during the summer months around the pool.

Swimming is great for cardio and endurance.

I would drown if I had to swim, but I could survive for days in place, provided the water conditions weren't rough, as I learned breathing techniques to float on my back or "stand" in the water with the water line wrapping around my ears to lower lips.

Being able to float would also let me rejuvenate a bit to try and make some movement back to shore, but I'd rather just wait for someone to come pick me up. :-P
