More people die from alcohol and tobacco related health complications compared to drugs, yet alcohol and tobacco products are openly sold. I don’t drink and I don’t smoke. If you are serious about living a healthy life, the first step is to stop smoking and drinking. These two habits are among the leading causes of death worldwide. Most smokers start young, and despite knowing the risks, many find it hard to quit. Smoking and drinking is a psychological addiction, it is not the body that needs to smoke and drink, it is your mind that wants. It possible to recondition the brain to let go of the habit.

As someone who has parents who used to smoke a lot each day, and my dad used to drink each day, seeing them both quit smoking together and now be smoke-free for over 10 years tells me anyone can quit smoking and also drinking if they have the willpower and the support.

My parents didn't use anything when quitting smoking, they just stopped with the support of the doctor and supporting each other.

I just met a person who used to smoke 8 packets of cigarettes per day for almost 20 years! That's like smoking lungs half their capacity! However, one fine day he found courage to stop smoking and he just quit without any replacements! I have great respect for such people for it is not easy to quit an addiction. He had also stopped drinking but he admitted to be drinking minimally but on daily basis from few months. Sometimes, the brain can reason but the urge is overpowering. However, what is harmful is harmful.

I smoke and I drink. I'm a daily smoker, but I don't drink all the time. I don't get sick that often either. I probably get sick every other couples of years, maybe. It's not often that I'm fighting some type of sickness. I have a pretty strong immune system.

The last time I had any type of flu was back in 2020, or earlier than that. i eat a lot of spicy foods, take fish oil and make sure I stay loaded with my vitamins.
