I may be old school but when I watch a movie, I want to spend 1.5-3 hours of screen time looking at beautiful people. Of late, I have noticed that just anybody is becoming an actor on the screen. When there is no facial appeal I find it hard to enjoy watching them act unless their roles are not that of the main character. What is your take on this? Should actors be good-looking?

Certain roles not-so-good-looking people fill quite well. This, of course, is the outlier for Hollywood, though, and there typically is eye-candy in the movie to probably not make you feel like you're just watching normal people in an A-list movie.

The first example of Steve Buscemi came to mind when I read this. Not the most attractive guy...

And, though I had to Google his name, Danny Trejo would be on that list, too. However, he's in some good movies too.

So, should actors and actresses be good-looking? Not all the time. There are some cases where they can play the correct storyline for that character and not be good-looking. That said, again, these are the outliers of the red carpet in Hollywood.
