I usually take a slice of bread with peanut butter as a pre-workout, but it has become so repetitive that I was looking for other good alternatives.

My gym trainer suggested me to try Sweet Potato and it has worked out very well.

However, I am looking for new suggestions. Any other time tested meals that I can take as pre-workout?
 
I basically like eating oatmeal with fruit. It prepares my body for a workout and gives me all the strength I need for the exercise.
I used to take oatmeal as a breakfast and that too without milk, just plain old water.

But I prefer to happe apples and grapes in it and not any other fruits.

I dont know why, maybe I just dont like the taste of it.
