discuss Poverty eradication

This thread covers all aspects of ideologies, including beliefs, principles, traditions, policies, and their influence on society and culture.
It is difficult to define poverty, for instance, poverty in the United States might be different than poverty in African country. However, if you go by the United Nation's definition of poverty, which is people living under $2 a day, I think this can be eradicated.

I think many churches should band together and help with this.

Sure, there should be requirements. If a church feeds and shelters you, you must abide by their rules. Not so much as to become a member or anything like that but to have a curfew, not party, and obey the commonsense rules.

Aside from areas where poverty is just massive, a lot of people choose to be in that lifestyle especially when you have groups that give them free stuff for nothing.

Cut off the free stuff and watch people start getting jobs and getting off drugs.

But that's not always the case everywhere. Many areas in South Africa are going to need better management of poverty.

I think we can significantly reduce extreme poverty, but eradicating it entirely is complex because poverty isn’t just about income—it’s also tied to access, opportunity, and systemic structures. Since poverty is relative, there will always be disparities unless inequality is completely eliminated, which is incredibly difficult in a globalized world. That said, striving for fairer systems and universal access to basic needs is a step worth taking.
