If I had a dollar for every time someone said, “LOL, Peter Griffin, Family Guy, LOL” I’d have several thousand dollars. Not enough to turn semi-retirement into full retirement, but more than enough for a few beers on a regular basis.

With the obvious out of the way…

Hi I’m Pete. I hail from England where I’ve started the process of hanging up my apron and looking at spending the rest of my life doing what I want (or what the wife allows me!) and very generally pissing off the conservatives. If ever there was a reason to get up in the morning, pissing off conservatives is it.

I am an old school gamer and I love the old classics. They don’t make ‘em like they used to. I used to use a lot of forums but they seem to have died off. Stumbled on this site and figured I would sign up and see if there are any other old codgers like me still around.

For the record, I have never once rolled on the floor laughing my ass off, and these days I don’t think my knees could take it.

So that’s me, in a nutshell. See you in a bit. Michelle has got dinner on.

You'll get there! But full retirement isn't what it's all cracked up to be. It does get boring, which is why I'm now back in semi-retirement.

Going to have to try me (bring your citations). I don't like to get too political, but if there's something I can correct you on, I hope you can take the criticism. I am conservative by nature, and was on the side of the war hawks until I learned it was a fake war that got a lot of good people I know killed for nothing, then became partyless, but still a conservative in many ways. However, there's now a new era: common sense and, hopefully, no new wars. Surprisingly, the progressive liberals have seemed to flip to wanting wars, which was a turn of events that I didn't think I'd see in my lifetime.

I would sign up and see if there are any other old codgers like me still around.

Old, but not a gamer unless it's a game I'm developing to beta it before release. I've made my fair share of "graphical" (calculator-based) and text-based (calculator and web-based) games in my day. I seem to enjoy making them more than playing, but I do enjoy the community that they bring when they're done.

It'll just take practice and some stretching.
