BRUSSELS – Europe is likely to seek even more distance from the Trump Administration in the wake of leaked Signal chat conversations revealing the war plans of senior US officials and their contempt for “freeloading” European countries.

The hostility shown by US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth and US Vice President JD Vance towards Europe – including their plans to bill European nations for last week’s air strikes on Yemen – was revealed after a journalist was accidentally added to an unofficial messaging group, in a stunning breach of security.

Well, the Yemen stuff, as I said in another thread, mostly threatens Europe anyway and the US has so much oil in North Dakota anyway.
