music K-Pop’s Global Influence: Just a Trend or the Future of Pop?

I don't listen to K Pop but my niece and nephews and cousins listen to K Pop. K-Pop’s global reach is undeniable, with BTS and BLACKPINK topping Western charts. Do you think this is just a phase, or has K-Pop redefined mainstream pop music? What makes K-Pop so universally appealing?

I wouldn't really say that K-pop has a global influence yet, because there are a handful of people out there who do not have the slightest bit of idea what K-pop is, much less listen to it.

I think it is a future of the industry.

K-Pop specifically and the influence of Korean art and literature growing across the globe and at times, being neck to neck with the Hollywood is actually giving us a new direction of building the brand of entertainment. A close study can always reveal what other regional players can do to upgrade themselves and build their reach and profitability.

This is especially important when the public and private funding into entertainment industry is either reducing or taking different routes like game development and the likes of such.
