other Judging a Book by Its Cover

I know we are not supposed to, but sometimes I totally picked up a book because of its gorgeous cover. Be honest, how often do you judge a book by its cover? What’s a book with a cover that hooked you, and did the story live up to it?

To be honest, we cannot judge a book just by how its cover looks. I have seen a well designed book cover that catch my attention immediately but the content is nothing write home about. So, I only go for books written by my favourite authors.

When I was a kid, I used to buy books with fancy covers, but as I grew older, I never bought a book just because it had fancy covers. But sometimes I by after reading blurbs (which is also a kind of judging book by the cover)

I have done enough of books to know that a fancy cover does not always translate to a good read. While a catchy cover is good for a book, I have come to realize that the best books around don't always have those fancy covers.

I read the blurb before buying books. I just don't give into the cover design

I mostly read non fiction. In such genres you cant expect them to have fancy covers, so judging the book by the cover doesnot arise for me.

However, there are certain cues I take from the book's cover - one is the author, second is the theme and third is the amount of work and thinking that has gone into building the cover.
