Yes, there is freedom especially if you are not locked within the four walls of a cell. Being able to go anywhere you want and eat whatever you feel like, is a freedom on its own.
We always tend to discount this privilege because most of us have not lost it before. Being fixed in a place and not able to do the things you wish to do would drive a person into instant depression. I believe true freedom is being able to make life choices without any system that completely impedes your power to do that.
True freedom is complex; it means having choices but also responsibility. While complete freedom may be limited by society and self, I believe inner freedom, peace with oneself, is achievable through awareness and acceptance.
First of all you need to define what freedom actually means. You want to play music in full volume but your neighbor comes in and asks to lower the volume. Do you think this is the restriction of your personal freedom?
