I watched a documentary about this before. They go far and wide underneath the city, so it can conceal the number of the homeless population.
My only question is, what happens when it rains? Is there a warning, or is it a flash of water, ye high, as all drains essentially connect and push water through those tunnels at once?
I don't think it has anything on California, though.

Are they actually Americans, they could be illegal immigrants, right? Or, even if they are legal Americans, possibly they could be second generation of immigrants. Is there any study on who these people are? Homelessness is also a problem in my home city but most of the homeless people are the ones who migrated from countryside looking for work opportunities. Is this also a case in the United States?
Where I'm at now (Virginia) has park and ride where u can legally park your car.
All people need is what a single occupant jail cell has, minus the depressing look and captivity.

Most of the homelessness I see in America is Americans.
Before Trump started purging illegal aliens, they were being housed in hotels and other buildings while homeless Americans were left to the streets.
Get this, in Chicago, a homeless American could stay all night in the lobby of a police sub-station but would have to leave the building in the morning. Sounds okay, right? But the illegal immigrant staying there too was allowed to stay all day and not leave at all.
It's a sad time when a country ignores its own and puts foreigners first.

Based on the research I made, I found out that most of the people living in the tunnel are long-time residents and migrants. These people face a lot of life threatening challenges sometimes. For instance, there could be heavy rainfall which will cause flooding and it's life threatening.
