Present day developments in electric cars and self-driving vehicles will alter the transport industry and also human lives. This will mean that our cities will be less congested and polluted with rates of accidents. Self-driving cars and other such technologies would also change the ways in which people commute and it will change for the better.

I have the hope that self driving cars will enhance the transport of the elderly and the disabled too. I mean, those are the areas it touched the most. Electric cars will also help ease the dependence on petroleum products making the future more sustainable in terms of renewable energy. But there are questions regarding job losses which I think is valid.

The very idea of autonomous vehicles does not appeal to me as a viable means towards solving transport issues. We seems to fail in looking at the liability issues and much more importantly, cyber security threats. Electric vehicles on the other hand are also not as innocent as they sound.

Sustainability of electric vehicles depend on the generation of clean energy. Sadly, in many countries green energy is not enough or simply not available. Look at Europe, despite approving sanction against Russia is importing oil form Russia.

The truth is that I don't believe that self driving cars are robust enough to be trusted. There is a lot of fine-tuning to do to make self driving cars safe and inspire the confidence of people. But it would really change the way that transportation and commuting is done going forward. There would be smart vehicles that understand humans. And that prospect sounds quite interesting.

I believe that electric and autonomous vehicles would make transportation more efficient and safer for people as there are a lot of benefits in it. A few of those benefits are reduced emission and increased safety.

I would still not be 100% confident to trust an automated operated machine, after all it is still a machine that can get corrupted, hacked or malfunction anytime. Manually operated machines are much better anytime in my opinion. It might also cause unemployment for professional drivers and that prospective sounds sad.
