off-topic How do you eat your apple?

For threads discussing subjects unrelated to the main forum topics.
First of all, I wash apples properly with water. Washing fruits with water is very important because a lots of pathogens might be lurking on fruits. Having said that, I also like to cut apples with a knife. Biting apples could hurt jaws, especially for people who have problems related to jaws.

The way in which I enjoy eating my apples is using a table knife to cut out small parts while I eat. I don't bite into the apple like many people do. I find it irritating eating apples that way. It's more clean eating it with a knife.

How do you like eating your apple?

I do not slice off the upper layer or upper skin of the apple. This is because the upper skin of apples is very nutritious. Many people make the mistake of cutting or slicing off the upper most layer of apple. They do not know what they are doing.

I completely agree with you! The peel of an apple contains fiber, antioxidants and any other nutrient that is found in an apple. My dad used to eat the apple skin. But I prefer to peel it off before eating it.

I didn't even consider this as a step until you mentioned it. It seemed like a given to do, for me at least, but some may not even do this step before eating it. So, that's probably good advice if people aren't washing their fruits (apples) before eating them in the way that they like, unless cooked like @eyes2c mentioned, of course.
I eat apples in a pie or strudel, but not off the tree.
As for me, I know that my wife washes the fruits. And, when we have apples, which is typically often, she'll slice them up with the skin still on it, as it is very nutrient-rich as already mentioned by you.
