discuss How close are your children to you? Or how close would your kids be to you?

By right, kids are supposed to be very close to their parents. They are supposed to be so close that the parents know everything about them. Are your kids so close to you that they can tell you the first time they had sex? For upcoming parents, do you think that you can establish that level of closeness with your kids?

I am very close to my mom and have let my mom into the very intimate details of my romantic relationships. Yes, I told my mom when I had my first sex. And have been telling her deeper things about myself. That has really helped us to understand each other and create an inseparable bond between us. I hope to have kids that would be close to me like that.

I'm not close to my parents at all. They both liked to party when I was a kid. They left me with my grandmother most of the time. She practically raised me. I lost her this past year. To me, it was like losing a parent. It was unexpected and it still hurts.

I'm a stepdad and my step kids are grown and doing their own thing but I do try to talk to them and help any chance I get.

If I had younger kids, I'd be as close as possible to them. I'd want to know everything in their life, even if it may seem intrusive. That's how you protect them and ensure they make the right decisions before they're adults. Don't let them make bad decisions while they're kids, take control like you should as the parent, and make the right decision for them.

I think more kids needs that.

If you ask me, my children and I are very close. In fact, we are like brothers and sisters and because of my small stature, it's very difficult to differentiate the mother from the children as we are almost of the same height. In a nutshell,I have a good relationship with my kids.

I’m not a parent, but I imagine I’d want my kids to feel comfortable sharing anything with me, close enough to trust but also respect their independence.

I really want to be very close to my kids when I eventually have them. I want to be close enough to them to be their besties that they can tell anything at all to. That way, I would be able to guide them through life. In spite of that, I would still respect them too.

I've got no kids yet, but I keep encouraging parents to stay close to their kids. Be their best friends as that is the way that you can find out when they are going through a challenge that is beyond their physical and emotional capacity.
