discuss Have you ever taught someone to run a forum?

There are those who wants to become a webmaster but sadly, they don't know how to or where to start from.

Have you ever come across such people when they make their intentions known and you wouldn't mind helping them out from the beginning until they've successful started their own forum?

Did you do for free or there was something in it for you?

I run a forum for forum owners (AAF) and I've written many articles on running forums. I've ran them since the late 90s.

I hope my experience and knowledge has indeed helped others run a forum.

I have a few times. I’ve been running forums for over 20 years now and I hope a lot of people take my advice serious.

One of my buddies currently run a poker forum and its starting to become quite a success. I’ve taught him a lot of things over the years.

I wouldn't say I have taught anyone how to run a forum, but I have given advice when asked for it on how to run a forum, and also helped with any other questions they may have.

I guess if someone did want to be taught how to run a forum, I would happily help, I don't think I would charge though.

I wouldn't say taught but I have helped a lot of people to create forums, get early users and activities.

No I have not done it. I have not encouraged anyone to create a website and to help. I and my friends are all working so we do not have a time to think about it.

I don’t own a Forum, I have never owned a forum. I don't have skills and knowledge, let alone teaching someone.

If I'm only skilled on that, why not teach. It will be encouraging having a skill like that. I believe that owning a forum is something you can't ignore.

I haven't done so, but I have a friend stuck in a small community with little job prospects (too disabled to do physical jobs + more obstacles), and I thought about teaching him web development to help him out.
