fitness Gen Z Not Into Alcohol

This general fitness thread covers all aspects of fitness, including workouts, nutrition, wellness tips, lifestyle changes, and fitness advice.
I found this drop pretty odd.

One theory I had is that Millennials didn't always have a camera pointed at them, while Gen Z always has one on them, recording their every action. This, of course, could lead to punishments from parents much easier because they'd always be caught, or, a stigma around them for what they do while on camera that always follows them from their time in high school to their first job even.

Another is the #MeToo movement. If males are, for the most part, always going to get the blame — while it's arguable that neither party is able to give consent — it would seem like there'd be a higher amount of males that abstain from drinking to not put themselves in that position, and without males drinking, females would follow suit as there would be no alcohol.

So do you feel ME Too is bad and an alcohol-free culture is bad?

I belong to the millennials generation, but I do not drink alcohol. It seems like people nowadays realize how bad alcohol is, actually. Alcohol is prohibited in my Islamic religion. I never drink it. Alcohol damages your health and liquor could lead to many problems in Relationships as well. Moreover, alcohol is very addictive as well.

I went thru a phase of heavy drinking but quit later. I never was really into it, but it was just peer pressure.

I never said Me Too was bad, just the way it's framed is bad.

And, an alcohol-free culture is never bad.
Some nations are heavy into drinking, and you can't have friends unless you drink.

Maybe it's a variation of different reasons.

Driving while drinking in many countries has really become a serious offense. When my dad was young, they just told you to walk home and leave your vehicle or they followed you home to make sure you drove straight there. When I was young, you'd get a DUI but if you had a few thousand dollars, you could get out of it. Now they want to take your license, make you do classes, make you install a device, and almost ruin your life over one offense.

Also, these generations have watch other generations drink their lives away and make bad decisions and maybe even be abusive,

I quit drinking because an uncle was a drunk and really pushed everyone away because of how he acts. It made me despise alcohol enough to quit all of it. I could less about it. I wouldn't care if they made it illegal again to be honest.

Maybe young people are just getting smarter.

There could be various factors responsible for what this graph depicts. Things like sample size, geographical location, religion, availability and accessibility of alcohol etc. Not all researches can be taken at face value. There is always a possibility of bias.
On the other hand, Gen Z may have found something else to replace the need of alcohol in their lives, a hobby or drugs, sports or other activities, a personal (wise) choice, or financial crises for instance to allow them to have alcohol on regular basis.

I recently saw that infographics on facebook where it said Gen Z are buying less alcohol compared to other generations. However, I always doubt studies like this one. They sample a small group of people and try to publish as a conclusion. In our place, Gen Z drinks more than the previous generation as seen by their growing numbers in clubs, bars and restaurants.
