Tom Clancy 
Neil Gaiman is one of my all-time favorites in the realm of fiction writers. The imaginations he has absolutely showcase excellence. I like his "American Gods", "The Graveyard Book," and of course "Good Omens," which was co-authored by Terry Pratchett.
I've read the Graveyard Book several years ago. It was a good book, I enjoyed it. I have another book in my collection right now but I haven't read it yet.
I have many. I like Gabriel Garcia Marquez, VS Naipaul, Salman Rusdie, DH Lawrence, J M Coetze, and James Joycee. I have more to add to the list.

I can't say that I have a favourite author now as I don't tend to read as much as I used to when I was younger. I always remember growing up, I would read a lot and my family would always buy me books to read, the one author that was my favourite was Enid Blyton.
I guess if you go by me being a fan of Harry Potter, both the books and the movies, J.K Rowling is also another favourite author of mine.
