discuss Father or Mother

Whom do you like the most? Your father or your mother? - This is a ritualistic question we ask all kids.

But despite it being just a childish question, do you think it will traumatize a child? Would he/she think that he/she has to make a decision or at least feel being forced to?

Lastly, How do you think an answer favouring one will affect the parents who are never considered as part of the equation after all?

I am closer to mother than father. That's because I share her temperament. I believe father couldn't give her a life she deserved.

My mother.

I love my dad, but he wasn't in my life that much. My mom and dad divorced when I was not even 1 years old. My dad got me on weekends unless his girlfriend at the time didn't want me there.

Now, we have a relationship but unless I text him, it's almost like he forgets I'm there.

My mom and I keep in touch through the week.

But in terms of parent-son relations, I'm really independent. I love my parents, but I am living my own life.

My father was always present in my life during my childhood days so it's very obvious I love him more. My mom was always busy working.

That’s a tough question. Honestly, I think it’s not about choosing one but appreciating both for different reasons. Each parent brings unique love and support that shapes who I am in their own special way.

I like my mother more. But we ask kids this like it's a harmless game. But it can actually put a child in a tough spot, making them like they have to choose sides.
