The first thing I always consider when I intend to buy a new phone is what I want to use the phone for. That would help me to determine the particular specs of phone that I want. For me, performance defines a phone to me. And I want a smartphone with an excellent RAM and processor.
Recently, I bought a new phone. I am a Samsung user, therefore instead of looking for other brands, I just searched for Samsung model. If you are fixated on brand, buying a new smartphone will be less complicated.
Congratulations on getting your new device. If I am to ask, what was the thing which you considered before settling on a particular Samsung product?
For me, it is the RAM and the processor/Chipset. These things determine whether a phone will run smoothly or lag during usage.
I always place very big importance on the RAM so that I have good speed with the phone. I also don't joke with the camera because I need to use my phone to snap the clothes that I make and post online in my online business portal.

My smartphone video and regular camera has been to reason I've been cut checks multiple times because I use it to capture content for my outdoor brand.
My video and photos have earned me at least 20 times more money than I paid for the phone.
If the camera is the best, then I want that phone.
However... I only upgrade when my current phone quits working or if the camera quits working first. I'll use it until it reaches its end of life.

Before I go for a smartphone, I check the specification if it's worth the purpose I want to use it for. The purpose helps me narrow down the specs. I also look for battery life, camera quality and storage whenever I need a new phone.
Any smartphone that I own is always an extension of my work tools. That's why I am always very particular about the processor as the RAM. My smartphone should be able to take some Digital Audio Workstation apps that I use and run them seamlessly.
The purpose is what determines which smartphone someone is supposed to buy. If it's for making videos and pictures, the phone camera quality is what should be looked at. If it's gaming, the storage and processing speed is to be taken into account and so on.
