The FA Cup (England's football competition open to literally any team in the country) is famous for throwing up crazy results and giant killings.
Whilst not one of the biggest in history, we certainly saw one of the biggest in recent years yesterday when Plymouth Argyle, rock bottom of England's second division, managed to beat Liverpool, arguably the world's best team right now, top of the Premier League and in free-flowing scoring form. Granted, Liverpool rested most of their key players, and played a significantly weakened team, but they are the top team in the world right now and still should have possessed the quality to see off lowly Plymouth.
Being a Liverpool fan myself, this was a particularly painful day for me, but it is one unique thing I love about this competition - these so-called "giant killings" happen in the FA Cup more than any other competition in the world, of that I'm sure!
