What do you think will be the influence of Elon Musk on the politics of emerging technologies?

I think that with Elon Musk in the department of governmental expenditure, he will influence policies which will cater to significantly cut down the man power in the government and replace them with technologies including artificial intelligence wherever it will be possible.

Additionally, I also think that Elon Musk will be responsible in diluting the governmental oversight on emerging technologies. Who knows, there will be a three parent baby in US!

What are your thoughts?

His influence with Twitter/X helped Trump win the US presidential election.
Twitter may have helped, but I would attribute it more to getting with TikTok creators and sitting through every long-form podcast he could over Twitter/X.

I wouldn't mind if the Government privatized both the US Postal Service (nothing to do with Musk) and NASA. SpaceX has accomplished more than NASA has in the past decade. If the US diverted NASA's $25 billion in funding to SpaceX, I could only imagine them being able to achieve much more than imaginable, if they didn't red tape the funding and let Musk do his thing.

It have been phenomenal to see what SpaceX have been doing for a while now. I definitely believe it's going to keep getting better with the right management and mind behind it. Musk isn't letting off with handling every project of SpaceX. I see Trump's administration supporting it massively.

I hope that he can get SpaceX/NASA to Mars, with a human landing, first.

That would be a generational achievement to witness.

We have already seen his influence!

See how Trump decided to reverse the ban on Tik Tok just when the market was high with the rumours that Musk might be biting a plan to buy the entire of Tik Tok USA. It is unusual because he was a very vocal supporter of banning Chineese apps in the entertainment and finance sectors.
I'm not sure if it was Elon Musk who influenced Trump to reverse the ban on Tiktok. If after the time Trump's executive order for Tiktok to be sold is over and he doesn't ban the app permanently, I will know someone in his government is solidly behind it.

I was having high hopes for him, but it seems that he was ousted from the White House by the White House Chief of Staff, asking that he not be a 'second President'!

He will fastrack monopolising the tech sector, especially after China released its own version of ChatGPT, naming it as DeepSake.

Additionally, DOGE has started its work after offering voluntary retirement for federal workers.

I saw the update which isn't a bad one by the Chief of Staff. Also, Trump mentioned that even though Musk holds an advisory position, all actions he proposes must be approved by the White House in order to reinforce the administration's hierarchical structure of the government.

I cannot believe that they are actually considering all these things seriously.

Based on his advice, they have now started recalling all workers in USAID programme and they have been asked to return to the country in 30 days. This brings so much risk to the nation as a whole, some damages being totally irreversible.

What next? Will the stop printing currencies and rely solely on cryptocurrency assets?
