With the onset of full blown films and documentaries, much sheen in the drama and theatre industry has been lost. It is however noteworthy that many wonderful cine artists are those that migrated to cinema from the drama and theatre industry.

This prompts a significant question - How relevant is the drama and theatre industry today?

Do you watch theatrical dramas anymore?

I cannot say about what's it like in other countries but in my place, there is a huge demand for live drama and theater art. There are at least a dozen theater company in my town that regularly do live performances. I haven't watched a live drama for a while but few years ago, I was a regular.

I strongly maintain that the drama and theatre industry maintains active relevance in the present. Theatre presents an exclusive and interactive experience that cannot match any rendition on cinema screens.

Theatre plays an indispensable role as part of our cultural heritage since its value exceeds normal estimation. Through its medium it enables social commentary, creative projects and artistic demonstrations.
