In some cultures, just loving a person and being committed to them is not enough criteria for marriage. Factors like the family background of a person are always considered as a factor in deciding to marry the person or not. By cousin didn't marry his long time girlfriend because he got to find out that the parents of the lady were divorced.

Does the family background of the person you want to marry stand as a deciding factor in marrying the person or not?

In some country, marriage is not just about two people being together, it is also about two families coming together. In my culture, family background is very important factor fore marriage. Couples often have strained relationship with their families, if they go against their family while choosing whom to marry.

I think for many, family background matters, it can reflect values, habits, and upbringing. While love is key, understanding family dynamics helps avoid future conflicts. Personally, I’d consider it, but not let it solely decide.
