Skating is a fun exercise if you know how to do it well without crashing and burning. I enjoy playing skating video games because it excites me but sadly, I can't do it in real life.

I've tried learning how to skate several times but I can't find a steady feet which makes me fall all the time.

Do you know how to skate?

The last time I tried ice skating, I busted my butt.
I haven't even tried, albeit one of the most popular tourist destinations due to the heat here, because I know I'd have a broken tailbone within minutes of entering the rink.

I prefer to sit in the freezer-cold stands and drink hot coffee on a summer day.

Same here. I wouldn’t want to experience having a broken tail bone, no thank you!

I’d rather go swimming in some ice cold water than try ice skating again.🤣

I am so temperature sensitive that even a 37°C (98.6°F) water heater setting (the lowest it goes—whereas my wife puts it at 42-45°C) gives me a skin burning sensation. The same goes for cold water too. Anything much under 37°C gives me chills and goosebumps.

However, like you, I'd still take a polar plunge over trying to skate, because being wrapped in a blanket for a few minutes is definitely better than a cast for a few months. 😅

During my childhood, I used to skate a lot. I used to visit a park and I used to skate in a ground. Having said that, those were golden age of my life. Times have changed and now things are pretty different. Now I have many other challenges in life and now I do not have time for skating.

I love watching people skate but I have never attempted it due to the fear of falling. Maybe I would learn the techniques one day.
It is almost fascinating to watch skaters. I think fearing of falling is quite normal, but learning to skate is very exciting. If ever you plan to try it, it would be wise to get lessons from an expert that will show you how to do it right and safety measures to observe.

I tried it myself and couldn't move a pole without falling. I simply give up on it because I would eventually end up hurting myself very bad.

Skating could lead to various kinds of injuries. If people are concerned about injuries, then they should not be skating. Fortunately, I learned skating without injuring myself seriously. However, it has been a really long time I have not skated, so I may need to learn it again.

What a good point! There are chances that you might get injured, which is kind of funny. It’s kind of similar to cycling and once one gets back on it, there are chances of finding out the tricks to go about it.

It was the reason why I never bothered about trying it again because I know it's above my pay grade. I love seeing those skate, it excites me but unfortunately I can't do it 😔
