discuss Do you watch movies more than once?

This is a thread to discuss anything related to movies.
I have watched Game of Thrones which is a TV show more than 10 times and I started from season 1 to 8 whenever I rewatched it. The same thing goes for Lord of the Rings Trilogy. I've seen the 3 of them over and over again. I'm 100% sure that I'm going to watch them again.

I've wanted to what this show but I'm still in the process of reading the books that are out. I've read the first one but haven't read the others yet. I want to finish the books before I watch the show.

Some movies I watch more than once but this only because I have certain difficuties in watching new filsm.

For example, while I am studying, I prefer to have some kind of noise across my room otherwise I will probably fall asleep. So what I do is to replay old movies which I know like the back of my hand. In this sense, I will be having enough noise and will not be diverted from focussing because I already know what is playing in the screen.

There are some movies I'll watch more than once, however, not everything.

The Harry Potter movies I can watch over and over again.

I watched the Twilight movies when they first came out at the theater. When I finally got the movies on dvd, I re-watched all the movies all the way through once when I was on vacation.

Yes I do, that's because there are so few good ones. When I find one that I like I will watch it 2 or 3 times at least. But I will wait at least a year between viewings.
I am also used to watching movies more than once. What triggers me to rewatch movies is the quality of the movie and the nostalgia. I have actually rewatched some of my favorite childhood movies even as an adult and it's quite amazing how I perceived it in another perspective.
I'll rewatch movies on accident sometimes and have a déjà vu moment halfway through that I already watched it, but I still have to finish it because I can't quite remember the ending.
As funny as it may sound, I think it's a good idea as I'm also guilty of rewatching movies by accident too. I might have to steal that idea of yours🤣 . But I have a question; do you actually think rewatching movies too frequently can diminish the enjoyment? Or will it enhance it?
Yes, I do. There are a few movies that I’ve watched more than once. I’ve probably watched Scarface about twenty times, the same with American Gangster, 8 Mile, and Shooter.
I have watched Shawshank Redemption and Dark Knight many times because of their complex characters and storylines. What attracts you to watch a film again and again?

I have been known to watch movies I have already watched numerous times again and they are usually the movies that I really enjoyed and can enjoy again, even when rewatching.

The movies that stand out to me that I know I have watched more than once that I still never get tired of watching again are

Gone in 60 Seconds
The Harry Potter Movies

Shōgun is a great TV show. I can't wait to watch season when it's likely going to be ready by 2026.

Hiroyuki Sanada, who was known as Lord Yoshii Toranaga stated that filming of season 2 is expected to start in the fall of 2025.
Yeah, I would re-watch it again when the next season is almost out. As of now, I want back and re-watched all the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. I don't think I'm going to ever stop love seeing Jack Sparrow on screen.

Maybe it's just a consequence of getting old, but I do rewatch movies often. Star Wars, obviously (every year on May 4th!) but also Gladiator, Aliens, there are loads I have seen multiple times. The Tarantino movies. Pure cinematic joy. The best thing is when you notice things the second, third, fourth watch that you never noticed the first time.

Most movies that I watch, I wont watch more than once.

How about you? Do you rewatch movies after you already seen them?

Watching moving more than once is not a bad idea, mainly when it is an interesting movie. I will want to see it again so as to learn one or two from doing so. I have seen a couple of movies such as Game of Thrones, Merlin, and others more than once.
