Have you ever come across an online petition where it's being asked of people to sign with the bid to support or kick against a current situation? The last one I came across was a petition to have Jon Jones striped of the UFC Heavyweight championship belt. Millions of people signed the petition but Jones was never striped.

I have signed up on a couple of online petition but I believe they are useless, these petitions cannot make the authorities change anything.

I really think it all boils down on what the petition is for and if it's able to hit the media or not, but most of them, they are quite useless. They really go anywhere and change the outcome of a situation.

I think online petitions can help get people talking and show that a lot of people care about something. But on their own, they don’t always lead to change. It really depends on who sees them and what they do about it.

Online petitions can be useful when they raise awareness, show public support, and pressure decision-makers. I’ve signed a few that led to local change. While not always effective alone, they’re certainty starting point for collective action.
