I read newspapers all day. However, I skip the business, cinema and sports sections because they dont capture my interest.

I am not a sportsperson - so, I skip them.
We cant invest in stocks due to professional restriction - so, I skip them.
Cinema - well, I love watching films, but I dont think I am interested in what people wear or think about other films stars.

We have a local paper which I read (my wife would say) religiously. I read it cover to cover. It reports on both local and business news. It fair to say I'm reasonably well informed on business matters.

Just for the sake of understanding, why do you read business news?

Do you routinely invest in stock market or are you doing it to kill time?

I don't read the news like that. I don't read newspapers offline or online. I actually follow a news forum where I spend 30 minutes of my day every day. I just scroll through the headlines and open the ones that might interest me. I know that I am abreast of most of the celebrity news, political affairs and foreign happenings everyday.

I read all kinds of news because I want to be abreast of what is happening around me. I check the business news everyday because I am in business. It is important because policies or developments that might affect my business may be on the news.

I read business news, I also watch business news on TV. I studied business in college and university. I also wrote business articles for newspaper for many years. I am interested in business, finance, investment, and economy

I have made it a point of duty to make sure I stay informed on businesses and finances because I know it is valuable for my personal and professional growth. I have been using YouTube to get the relevant information lately.

As for my personal investments, I read company publications such as quarterly reports and annual reports as well as finance's take on interpreting the data (i.e., financial news) while coming to my own conclusions for investing or not.

I try to be one step ahead and not rely on financial reporting from the media, as the trend could already be underway, whether that's up or down, which could make me miss out on the greater opportunities.

Overall, I like to play it a bit safer, though, with high-yielding dividend funds with dividend reinvestment. However, I have a few select companies in my portfolio, but not too much to overwhelm me to follow all of their fundamental changes that could drastically alter the course of a return.

I don't intentionally read business news. If I stumble into it, I would read it. My kind of business doesn't relate with mainstream business and I don't find the things that reading mainstream business news would do to help my business.

This is the truth many people don't believe yet. Everything that we do in life is business and we should work towards reading most of those business news to gain insight.

I actually read businessinsider and certain people on social media that discuss business news. I also follow certain subreddits on Reddit that have quality business news.
