discuss Do you feel the media crucifies people who betray the norm?

Lately, Russell Brand has been accused of rape and maybe he did it, but then again, the left-wing media doesn't like Brand - because he's gotten way friendly to the right in the last few years.

Note: I got the idea for this post from an episode of Nightline I saw recently. The show is butchering Brand for behavior they wouldn't care about, if only he hadn't betrayed the cultural left.

The way the media treat the public figure is a little bit complex and we need to understand that the media would focus on individuals that are actually challenging the norms and their opinion about those people would definitely take a different direction. That is similar to what happened to Russell Brand.

Yes, the media often tends to amplify the scrutiny of individuals who betray societal norms, sometimes portraying them harshly or labeling them as outcasts. This happens because media outlets, driven by sensationalism, can focus on scandals or deviations from expectations to capture attention. The intense spotlight on these individuals can lead to public shaming, sometimes overlooking the complexity of their circumstances. However, the media's role in shaping perceptions can also evolve, offering more nuanced views on those who challenge the norm.

The truth is that every media organization has an agenda that they seek to protect. And anyone that seems to be opposing that their agenda, they would slay. If that person is not strong, the media would completely bastardize that person. The only offence of the person is non conformation.

Sometime back, a popular sportsperson in our country was arrested for rape and then sent to the jail. He lost his case in the lower court, and he went to upper court. During the time when he was fighting the court battles the media tried to crucify him. The media had clearly labeled him a culprit. However, the upper court cleared all charges saying that was not rape but consensual sex, the girl was just trying to destory the guy.
