I feel I'm that way sometimes, but it's so much fun to take stabs at wife beaters, Karens and other monsters that I wouldn't dare start stuff with offline.
I would say that to an extent, those who tend to talk badly online or bully others or even make threats are, a lot of the time, cowards and only tend to do it because that have that barrier of the internet to protect them.
I am not that kind of person that would say to people online what I won't say to them offline. That's why I calculate every of my online statements to be sure that I can defend them online. I am not a keyboard warrior but I know most people that make noise online just have a voice behind their keyboards.
The anonymity online has brought quite a lot of mixed reactions. It brings out the best and worst in people because they feel free and can do anything that they like. It is up to each individual to take responsibility for their actions online and strive to be a better person and also show respect to people in their interactions .
People act differently online, sometimes more aggressively or cruelly. That's because of anonymity and lack of real-world consequences. It creates a space where some feel emboldened to say things they wouldn’t dare say face-to-face. That said, not everyone hides behind a screen out of cowardice, some are just more comfortable expressing themselves without pressure or judgment. But yes, the internet often reveals both hidden fears and hidden bravado.
I wouldn't say cowards but I believe people are fake online. They want to show the "perfection." I feel that a lot of people cannot speak out because of the fear. There is a difference between being coward and having fear. In many countries, government monitors social account of the public. For instance, in my home country, people have been sent to jail just for speaking against the prime minister.
