politics Do you agree with this statement from Trump?

This thread focuses on politics, including governance, policies, ideologies, current events, and their impact on society.
He loves his country, doesn't he?
That's a hard disagree. He doesn't love anything but Trump and the Trump legacy. He care nothing for the people of the United States, only about the perception people have of him.

But that's not the question posed here. Do you agree that "He who saves his Country does not violate any Law?"

Well, I think some things are rightfully above the law. For instance, who wouldn't smash someone's car window to save a dying puppy?

That wouldn't be a crime - at least not here in the UK. We have a lawful excuse defence for crimes. (My brother in law is a police officer).

Besides, that's really not what is being asked here. Is Trump, with his claim that nothing done to 'save' (Messiah complex!) the United States should be illegal.

Interesting that the regular Trump supporters on ROFLMAO who are normally so quick to jump to the defence of the Commander in Chump have yet to comment on this thread. Maybe this is the reason why:

"He who saves his Country does not violate any Law." - Donald J. Trump.

"The authority of the Fuhrer is not limited by laws or statutes." - Adolf Hitler.

I think you can draw your own comparisons.

Well, you know, MAGA rubber stamps everything he says, even the Canada talk.
Everyone with half a brain knows this is not going to happen. Again, Canada "State"'s Constitution would have to reflect free speech and gun ownership rights as seen in the US' Constitution to even be considered to join the Union. I'm unsure of their process to ratify the Constitution there, but if it takes decades for a new clause in the US to pass, changing those key issues would take much longer. It's impossible. I don't know whose rhetoric you're buying into to even think this is a possibility.

It's masterfully trolling them to get more out of them as they take, take, take.

I don't know. Insulting Canada like Trump has is like making sexy comments about someone's wife, in front of her husband. That's how it seems to many people.

Justin Trudeau resigned after trying to battle Trump.

So, it was effective, despite whatever argument you're bringing to the table with this response.

Well, in the real world pal, words like Trump gave can get you beat up or killed. Just saying.
It sure can.

The left uses violence and other terroristic actions to get what they want, but the biggest threat to this country is Trump and white supremacy.

Both sides suck, honestly. Politics has gotten too extreme, but I have to comment on the "real estate rape of Canada" anyway.

...and "the right" doesn't? Pssh. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/January_6_United_States_Capitol_attack
No, only memes will get you put in jail in the UK. Talk about Nazis.
Plenty of things will get you put in jail in the UK. And we have - and are proud of our - laws which are designed to protect society from racial hatred. It's not Nazism to punish people who stir up racial hatred. If anything, it’s an attempt to prevent the kind of hate that led to Nazi atrocities in the first place.

I agree that it was bad, but if you compare that to any "mostly peaceful" protest by the left, with the majority going unpunished, it's nothing.
And we have - and are proud of our - laws which are designed to protect society from racial hatred.
We do as well if the crime is committed due to hatred. But, to call someone X by itself is not a crime, whereas under my impression there, you can't without being jailed.

You would need to assault X and then call them X for it to be a secondary hate crime to assault, making the assault sentencing so much more severe.

This is the first and only time you will hear me agree with Trump but I do agree with what he said there, it's just a case of he feels that following laws do not include him.

I believe that if he had not been elected, he would be in prison now for what he did and he used the run for presidency to prevent himself going to jail which I think is wrong.
