We all are a part of this digital world. As we need to keep decluttering our physical space around us, we need to do the same for our digital space. This becomes something of utmost importance where our productive hours are mostly spent in digital space. Digital clutters can reduce your efficiency and productivity. It becomes overwhelming and can slow you down. Clearing some unused apps, cleaning the inbox, deleting the useless messages, photos etc....one needs to do them frequently to clear up the space and stay efficient. I plan to do it every weekend and that's one of my new year goals. But again I am off track. How about you??

I do it at least once in 6 months.

The main issue that I find in decluttering is to know which data I want and which I dont want. For example, I will come across an image in my gallery which I may see later on or which I may donot.

The second is my mail box. It used to have around 16000 mails and mass deleting for difficult. Now I delete those that I dont want everyday.

I don't do it because I work online. I need to use various websites, apps, social media, bogs, forums, etc. as a part of my work. The websites and apps where I am active are very necessary for me. I don't download useless apps. I don't take a lot of photos and videos, but the ones that I have taken are sometimes used for my work.

I focus on decluttering my digital space to bring more calmness into my life. This means I regularly remove things I don’t need, like extra apps, files, videos, and photos. However, there’s one thing I will never delete: the photos of my late dog. Even though I've saved them in another place, I won't remove them from my phone because my dog holds too much meaning for me.

That's a very good practice and I should also get it done regularly. I always plan to do so, but then I get caught up with something or other and keep delaying it. And things keep accumulating so fast with all pouring messages, images, photos, videos etc.
Even I don't delete few of my favourite photos when clearing up. I do have their backup and they saved elsewhere. But still I prefer to have them on phone as it's convenient to have a look whenever I feel like. The emotional attachment is non negotiable.

I will admit, as much as I tell myself that I need to do some digital decluttering, I always end up so busy that I don't end up doing it and it ends up getting a little out of hand.

Just a few weeks ago I ended up backing up everything I knew I wanted to keep and resetting my PC and installing Windows again for a fresh start as I had gotten that much clutter, it would have taken so long for me to declutter. I am now being more careful and deleting things after I have used them and no longer have use for them so it does not end up as cluttered as it was.

That's a great idea! It is always difficult to delete photos of loved ones and that is what also prompts me to use an external storage. As I prioritize keeping these memories, at the same time, I try to free up my digital space.
