If you were a child of say just below the legal age, and your parents divorced and you were to choose to stay between either of them, who would you go for and why, mom or dad? For a child this is a very difficult choice, for them love is unconditional and undividable at that age. Certain factors may make the choice easier, however, in general if it were you, what would be your choice?

A child would always for the parent that shows him or her the most love by their own definition. I have seen a child prefer to stay with the dad because he always buys ice creams every evening. That's the child's definition of love.
If I were a child below legal age, that choice would be heartbreaking. At that age, love feels equal for both parents. I’d likely choose the one who felt more emotionally available, present, and understanding, someone who made me feel safe, not just provided for. It wouldn’t be about favoritism, just comfort and connection in a confusing time.
As a child with the same parents that I have had and having to make that choice, it would be my mom. My dad was so strict that we hardly were able to breathe around him. My mom was a little more liberal. I would easily make the choice of staying with my mom without any form of hesitation.
The choice to make depends on your relationship with your parents but it's important not to show it. For me, I love my dad more but I don't show it.
