Buddhism argues that the self is an illusion. If the self doesn’t exist, what does that accumulates karma and determines individual's life? If everything is determined by karma, where is the moral responsibility? How can societies function without a belief in stable personal identity? Is the Buddhist view compatible with modern psychology?
