Any smartphone worth about $180 will do you just good now.
You're not going to get high-resolution pictures or videos, but you will get high enough to save for memories.
It probably won't be too good at the latest games, but will be alright with some games that just keep you busy such as Tetris.

I agree with you. For $180, you can find a smartphone that will provide you all necessary options for communicating and with some numerous features too. You might get high end cameras. It might not be compatible for gaming but what you will be getting is a solid device that is all good for browsing and social networking.
It is really a shame that global inflation has affected the cost of smartphones because I can remember that there was a time when you $180 can get you quality smartphone that gives you everything that you want, but it is not the reality right now.
There are quite a lot of budget friendly phones that are available right now in the market. Even with $180, you can still buy a good phone that functions properly. The other time, I was browsing through a local e-commerce platform and I saw some wonderful phones that are affordable but most of them are new brands like Redmi etc.
