Top athletes are earning millions of dollars due to sponsorships and endorsements. This kind of partnerships have their pros and cons. They provide athletes with a significant source of income and give them more exposure. However. they have created undue pressure on the athletes; they have to always conform to the brand's values and lose their independence in the process. If an athlete makes some remarks that are against the values of the sponsor, he or she will be dumped. Do you think that sponsorships and endorsements have more merits than demerits?

People donot spend their money without a cause. So if athletes are taking up paid sponsorships, they will have to be the company's brand ambassador and maybe even use their products to build company value.

Sponsorship and endorsements play a vital role in the financial rewards of sports men. They really help sportsmen to earn money by the side outside of their professional contracts. Brands also benefit by leveraging the popularity of sports people to market their products. It is good for sports people to have endorsements. I am always happy when I see them bag one or the other.
