The Felon in Chief made some comments recently about Canada becoming the 51st State of the Union, and I wanted to ask you guys who hail from across the pond, are you shocked by the Canadian response?

The US has the arrogance to refer to itself as the Greatest Nation on Earth, so it must have come as a bit of a shock to find that your nearest and closest neighbours, the friendly Canadians, issued a collective 'FUCK YOU' to the notion of becoming part of the States. Did you expect they would clamour for an opportunity to join? Is there that level of delusion in America that you thought they would jump at the chance?

You can't force something on people that they don't want, and this isn't some 1860 situation like with the Confederate States. Well, where's the moral argument? Is there slavery in Canada?

I think by and large, Trump was not met with much appreciation by Canadians for saying such things as the 51st state. I mean, Canadian PM Justin Trudeau told him that there is not a snowball's chance in hell that the US would ever annex Canada. Well, that was quite a response I was expecting.

Understandable, really. I wouldn't trust the man to manage a corner shop, let alone a country.

Interesting that the Trump Cheerleaders on the forum have not had an answer for this. I'd be interested to hear what they have to say.
