Sadly, that seems to be the case unless strict measures are taken to curb the spamming of those AI contents all over the web.
People can't even compose a 50 word social media post by themselves any longer. They depend on AI to do it for them. People don't even know how to write simple letters any longer. AI does that for them. You should even be surprised that AI generated contents are also flooding the offline sphere.
Forum posts are definitely becoming more AI generated.

AI-generated content does seem to be flooding the internet, there is no doubt about that. Whether it is AI-generated text, videos, or even images, you are bound to see AI somewhere during your daily internet browsing.
It is a shame because the more people rely on AI, the worse it will become.

I think people are using AI more for video content rather than text. You go to any video platforms and you will see every third-fourth video will be AI generated. Forums are certainly getting AI content but this is usually only on forums where users are being compensated in some ways, forums where people are posting voluntarily, there doesn't seem to be too much AI content.
AI generated content is a double edge sword. I agree that AI content can be very efficient and helpful but when you overuse them, it will decrease the quality and authenticity which is what we do not need on our web right now.
I am happy for forums like this that we don't find Al generated contents as threads and replies. It is so pathetic when you expect to actually chat and share perspective with a human only to realize that the person asked a bot to reply you because he or she copied an AI generated response to send to you. Those large language models were meant to assist people and not to take over the thinking faculty of humans.
This is why it's imperative that the open web remains relevant to its structure. As long as humans are creating content, it will out pace and out last ai-generated content all day long.
There are far more humans in this world than AI systems.
It is true nowadays it is very hard for people to disinguish from AI content and real content. i fear that with this the internet is becoming sturated and soon whatever is in the internet will have very low confidence levels. However with advancement in technology a way should be put in place to ensure that AI content is always flagged as AI generated by our browsers.
I get sad when people want to make a simple social media post, they have to resort to AI. One of my band members just wanted to drop an apology on the band's WhatsApp group for not being around during rehearsals, the guy just lifted everything from ChatGPT. And the thing is when you just come across an AI generated content, you would just know instantly.
This is the problem. Using ai can have its advantage if you use it as a tool and edit it in your own words, but copy/pasting straight from the AI systems is a major issue.
Sadly, a lot of content creators are limiting their creativity all because they want to get it easy with Ai generated content. I've seen a couple of such posts on some forums and I would say that it is not the way to go because of the damage it can cause to such forums.
I see a lot of AI being used on the forum.
It's easy to detect it. Especially when that particular user's voice significant changed from pre-GPT to post-GPT. That's how you know they're BSing with AI, LOL.
But it is damaging those who choose to lose their creativity.
I'll use AI to create a logo or something like that because I suck at graphic design but I'm not going to make it create a photo of a hiking trail versus me taking the photo.
